How we support students’ progression to international universities
by
Did you know that after every Pearson Edexcel exams series, we offer a paid-for provisional results sending service for universities outside the UK? We first piloted a DHL-fulfilled scheme in July 2018 and have now launched it to all students. This means students can ask Pearson to send paper copies of their Candidate Statement Provisional Results (CSPRs) to their desired university anywhere in the world in order to formalise their admission.
We hope this will be a huge bonus for the Pearson Edexcel students at UK and international centres who have chosen to study at non-UK universities this year and have faced so many tough knocks due to COVID-19.
We’re always striving to make improvements to the services we offer. For example, in 2019 we improved the application journey for students, centres and international universities and this has also helped us reliably track more of our students’ entries into global undergraduate study around the world.
Bringing us sharply back to July 2020, we are delighted to announce that the same service now allows universities to receive CSPRs in soft copy by email as an alternative to the existing hard copy DHL option. This means international universities can access official provisional exam results faster than ever before and in a more comparative time frame to the way UK universities receive Pearson Edexcel CSPR data via UCAS.
This enhanced August 2020 service is available to all students who:
- will receive a Pearson Edexcel calculated grade for the cancelled May/June 2020 series
- are applying to, or holding an offer from a university outside the UK, using their August 2020 results
You can access the service here. and follow the instructions for the ‘Learners who need confirmation of their results sent to a third party outside the UK on results day’ option. Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek confirmation of the university’s preferred delivery method before making their application to Pearson.
As expected, international universities that are popular with our students have also welcomed this change with open arms:

This is great progression! University of Amsterdam
So far we’ve seen applications to share CSPRs with universities in Canada, US, Netherlands, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka and we look forward to seeing even more student requests come in before August 2020 results days.
