A PD session for Heads of Primary Science that digs into the intricacies of motivating pupils and classroom teachers to find the joy in a Science classroom through Inquiry based STEAM learning. An opportunity to share and learn from each other as together we unpick the barriers to hands on learning, the opportunities the science curriculum offers to develop 21st century learning skills and the integration of STEAM.

About the presenters
Mona Rimawi - A social entrepreneur with over thirty years of experience in various STEAM fields and education related to them. A teacher capacity builder and Jury in the national initiative, Jordan Young Scientist JOYS, initiated by the Embassy of Ireland to empower the culture of science and innovation in the country. The Alchemist Lab's Leadership Management Team member, which is developing creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills for children, youth, and educators with a focus on STEAM.
The Alchemist Lab has reached more than 40,000 students and teachers in different locations in Jordan through different programs, initiatives, camps, workshops, and school trips. In 2015, The Alchemist Lab launched "Go Girls," which is a girls’ empowerment program geared towards STEAM education for better employability skills. The Alchemist Lab received regional and international recognition for advancing the UN SDG goals of good education for all and gender equality. It received WeEmpower and DVF Awards and was a finalist for Innovation in Education at GESS-Dubai.
Kevin Hiatt - A Senior Publisher at Pearson Edexcel, leading the development of the teaching resources and courseware for iPrimary and iLowerSecondary. Kevin was previously a teacher and Senior Leader in UK Primary Schools and has kept up a passion for helping students and teachers learn and develop.
