Is it for me?
Written to deliver the latest UK Primary Curriculum and to build a culture of writing for pleasure in your school, Power English: Writing is a complete writing programme which develops creative writing alongside technical skills through a genre‑based approach.
- A structure anchored around genre-focused writing projects allows your class to master each genre and produce a range of written outcomes.
- Our unique interactive planner allows you to choose which lessons you teach, in which order, while showing you curriculum coverage.
- Lesson plans advise on the intended learning outcome, and give advice on conferencing with children about their work as they write.
- Underpinned by a growth mind‑set, the programme fosters a strong sense of child agency, and encourages a deep immersion in the writing process, so every child believes in themselves as an author.
- A focus on ‘personal projects’ or ‘free writing’ ensures that quality writing is produced in every context and ‘You do’ parts of the lesson allow children to work in a self‑directed way towards the class writing goal.
- Spelling, punctuation, and grammar (SPAG) is integrated into the writing process.
