Chapter-by-Chapter Changes
Chapter 1
- Chapter 1 has been replaced with new discussion of the perspectives on local anesthesia and the education required to administer the drugs involved. The historical information previously included Chapter 1 has been integrated into relevant chapters throughout the text.
Chapters 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10
- Chapters 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 have been extensively edited and updated to reflect the latest current dosing guidelines provided by manufacturers and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Â
Chapters 9
- Chapter 9  includes a new appendix on computer-controlled local anesthetic delivery (CCLAD) devices and techniques written by Dr. Mark Hochman, co-designer of two important local anesthetic techniques and the developer of the most popular CCLAD device available today. Â
