MasteringMeteorology contains the following features:

  • Pre-Lab Videos accompany each lab and highlight what students should expect to learn. These mobile-enabled, three-minute introductions put the exercises in a broader context by reviewing fundamental concepts and identifying specific challenges to the material. Narrated by a student, they bring the perspective of someone who has completed the lab exercises.
  • Quick Response (QR) codes appear in each lab, quickly linking students to online resources from mobile devices. Resources include Pre-Lab videos, as well as real-world data, graphics, and information related to the lab exercises.
  • Pre-Lab and Post-Lab Quiz Questions accompany each lab. Pre-Lab Quizzes measure students’ preparation for the lab and are appropriate after viewing the relevant Pre-Lab Video and/or skimming the lab itself. Post-Lab Quizzes measure student comprehension of each lab topic. These auto gradable coaching items can be assigned by teachers for credit.
  • Interactive Media Modules to accompany many of the exercises get students hands on with interactive simulations and data visualization.
  • Geoscience Animations help students visualize the most challenging physical processes in the physical geosciences with schematic animations that include audio narration.
  • Video Activities, from sources such as the BBC and NASA, provide students with real-world case studies of atmospheric phenomena and engaging visualizations of critical data..
