About our authors
Eric Lamm is a Professor of Management in the College of Business at San Francisco State University. Dr. Lamm earned his PhD from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, and his BA in Politics and Sociology from Brandeis University. His main areas of interest in research and teaching are job attitudes, teams, and organizational change. Dr. Lamm's research has recently appeared in academic outlets including Group and Organization Management, Employee Relations, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, and Organization & Environment. Together with Dr. Tosti-Kharas, he won the Group and Organization Management Best Micro Paper award in 2013.
Before entering the world of academe, Dr. Lamm learned about organizational change first-hand as the senior speech-writer for the CEO of an international organization in Washington DC, undergoing a full transformation to privatization. His travels for study, work, and pleasure have brought him to over 60 countries across 5 continents and counting.
Dr. Lamm likes to spend his free time outdoors, watching baseball, and spending time with his 2 teenage daughters. He has participated in a spicy chicken wing eating contest and tied for 1st Place.
Jennifer Tosti-Kharas is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at Babson College. She earned her PhD in Management from New York University's Stern School of Business, and her BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Tosti- Kharas's research explores career development, with a particular focus on meaningful work and work as a calling. Her research has been published in outlets such as Personnel Psychology, Academy of Management Perspectives, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Vocational Behavior, and Journal of Career Assessment. Her research on organizational citizenship behavior toward the environment co-authored with Dr. Lamm received the 2013 Best Micro Paper award from Group and Organization Management and her research on calling was recognized with the 2019 Best Overall Paper award from the Careers Division of the Academy of Management.
Before entering academia, Dr. Tosti-Kharas worked as a strategy consultant at Accenture in New York City, specializing in the communications, media, and entertainment industries. She has appeared as a contestant on the television game show Cash Cab, and officiated a marriage.
In her free time, Dr. Tosti-Kharas enjoys skiing, hiking, and seeing live music with her husband and 2 kids.
