Foster deep understanding of developmental concepts

MyVirtualChild and MyVirtualLife prompt students to apply developmental principles as they raise a virtual child or live a virtual life.

These authentic simulations show how developmental concepts play out over the course of a person’s lifetime, from childhood through adolescence and adulthood.

Authentic Simulations

Realistic scenarios with a range of responses form the backbone of the MyVirtuals products, driven by a unique set of choices made by the student.

Realistic parenting decisions

Just like in the real world, students’ parenting decisions and life choices combine with environmental and genetic factors (determined by quizzes students take at the start of the program as well as assigned at random) to shape the development of the virtual character.

Sophisticated feedback delivered by virtual pediatricians, teachers, and psychologists helps students see how their decisions affect their child’s development over time.

Sample assignment which asks the student to identify which view is closest to their own goals and attitudes about dating at this point in their life.

MyVirtualLife offers a broad scope of trajectories in the areas of education, career, relationships, health, and financial stability that make for a more immersive learning experience.

Customizable avatars

Each student “creates” their virtual child, making MyVirtuals personally relevant, deeply resonant.

A virtual community that reflects real life

The virtual child’s sibling may be neurotypical, or on the autism or learning disability spectrum. Family members, friends, and neighbors can vary based on immigrant and socioeconomic status, as well as cultural and ethnic background.

Two simulations in one! An immersive experience that spans the entire lifespan. After a student parents a virtual child (by way of the included MyVirtualChild learning path), MyVirtualLife pivots to the first-person perspective of a virtual adult.
