Back in 1970, the highest earning quintile of U.S. households received 43.3 percent of all income. By 2021, this share had increased to 52.7 percent. In 1970, the quintile with the lowest income received 4.1 percent of all income; by 2021, the share had declined to 2.9 percent. This is the reality of increasing income inequality in the United States. This short presentation offers extensive analysis of inequality of income and wealth, using the latest available data.
