About the speaker

Brian Jones, Author, Colorado State University
Brian Jones has received multiple teaching awards at Colorado State University during his 30 years in the Department of Physics. His recent focus has been on teaching College Physics, developing problems for the MCAT exam, and aiding students in their test preparations. In 2011, he received the Robert A. Millikan Medal from the American Association of Physics Teachers for his leadership of the Little Shop of Physics outreach program. Brian is actively researching the effectiveness of informal science education methods and their application in college classrooms. He has conducted workshops on science instruction techniques across the United States and internationally. Brian and his wife Carol cultivate numerous fruit trees and bushes in their yard, including an apple tree propagated from Isaac Newton's garden.
