Chris Hess is a seasoned Director of Product Management with a rich background in education technology and former Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences at Butler University. Holding a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Washington, Chris is adept in Pedagogy, Content and Product Development, and E-Learning. He is passionate about enhancing education, strives to make it more efficient, impactful, and enjoyable for students and teachers. With a commitment to excellence and a multifaceted approach, Chris is dedicated to shaping the future of education through innovation and creativity.
Emily Ockay, Pearson
Emily Ockay spent the last 12+ years at Pearson working in a variety of roles across editorial, sales, marketing, and product management on features and products that help people achieve their learning (and life) goals. She is currently a Product Manager for Pearson+ eTextbooks where her job is to oversee the end-to-end eText experience from development to delivery and represent Higher Education students, instructors, and authors as the eText team works on features like Pearson's AI-powered study tool.
Dr. Michelle Hu, University of North Carolina Greensboro
Dr. Michelle Hu is a chemist who joined Pearson as a Faculty Advisor for Physical Sciences in 2023. She has been teaching chemistry with Mastering at University of North Carolina Greensboro since 2017. Merging her passion in education, pedagogical proficiency, and years of experience using Mastering, Michelle collaborates with faculty to meticulously plan and implement their courses, championing active and effective learning, and promoting student success. Beyond her professional pursuits, Michelle also serves as a fitness instructor, dedicated to aiding others in their exercise endeavors. She finds great joy travelling with her family, accompanied by their beloved dog, Mocha.
