Dr. Consuela Blaizes, RN is a resident of Johnston County. She specialized in research in areas such as improving fall prevention in the acute care setting. She bases her teaching philosophy on using research evidence, incorporating student preferences and incorporating one's own experience as a clinican and educator. She has served on the National League for Nursing (NLN) CNEA Nominations Commitee. She also advocates diversity and equity in her role as AVP by promoting excellence and integrity in nursing and health science education. She has completed an Equity Coach training cohort with the NC Success Center. With this work, she has the opportunity to lecture at Queen's University in Canada to speak on DEI in Nursing Education.
