About the speakers

Norrin Dias, Director, Commerical Product Management, Humanities, Social Science and English, Pearson
Norrin Dias came to Pearson in 2008 after working at Barnes & Noble College Bookstores as a Textbook Manager for 5 years. He started as a Sales Representative in the Orlando, FL area before moving on as an Acquisitions Editor of the Mechanical Engineering list in 2010 – eventually managing the whole Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) group. Following eight years in the ECS team, Norrin transitioned to Director of Product Management in Humanities, Social Sciences, and English in 2019, leading a team that develops content and technology on the Revel platform for students and instructors.

She is currently a Product Manager for Pearson+ eTextbooks where her job is to oversee the end-to-end eText experience from development to delivery and represent Higher Education students, instructors, and authors as the eText team works on features like Pearson's AI-powered study tool.

Chris Hess, Director of Product Management, Physical Sciences and Statistics, Pearson
Chris Hess came to Pearson 12 years ago after falling in love with their products as a customer. In a former life, he was a Biology professor at Butler University. One of his favorite things to do as an instructor was to help students in office hours, figuring out where they were stuck and watching the light bulb come on as difficult concepts became clear to them. One of his goals has always been to figure out a way to scale a version of that (never as good as a real instructor, but available 24/7). He expressed that it is exciting to see that becoming a real possibility!
