Join Dr. Kim Quillin as she shares several evidence-based strategies for supporting three goals in the biology classroom, helping students to:

The strategies range in instructor effort from simple/quick tasks that can be done "by class tomorrow" to more involved interventions that require more planning.

About the speaker

Dr. Kim Quillin, Salisbury University
Kim Quillin received her BA in Biology at Oberlin College summa cum laude and her PhD in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, as a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow. Kim is a co-author of Biological Science and has been in the trenches with the project since the first edition with Scott Freeman in 1999. Kim currently serves as the Curriculum Coordinator for Introductory Biology for Salisbury University (SU), a member of the University System of Maryland, where she has redesigned the curriculum to adopt evidence-based inclusive strategies. She also works at SU to promote professional development and assessment. In May 2023 she was awarded the President’s Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award for her Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work in the Henson School of Sciences.
