Writing plays a key role in helping students develop the critical thinking and analytical skills they need for success. In this session, Writing Solutions will be shared that enable students to acquire necessary skills and opportunities to write critically across many disciplines. Embedded writing prompts, grading rubrics, and personalized feedback allow students to continually sharpen their writing skills. In addition, Writing Solutions provide instructors a library of writing prompts, grading rubrics, and scoring rubrics.

About the speaker
Donna Butler, Pearson
As the former College and Career Readiness Coordinator and Director of Adult Education for Owensboro Community & Technical College, Donna’s 33 years in education provided a pathway to work with colleges and K-12 schools to provide opportunities for college readiness. Her background includes teaching at the college level as well as K-12, developing bridge programs, and offering summer boot camps.
She also served on statewide workgroups which launched the corequisite model and First Year Experience courses to help increase student success. Donna consulted for Pearson 9 years before becoming full time, with her expertise in MyLab® Writing, Reading, Foundations, NCCER/Brady, CTE, and K12. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, especially her 4 grandchildren.
