Cindy Fenske, DNP, RN, CNE, Concordia University
Cindy Fenske is the Campus Dean for Nursing at Concordia University Ann Arbor. She graduated with a BSN from Valparaiso University and an MS in Medical-Surgical Nursing from the University of Michigan. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Oakland University. She was a faculty member at the University of Michigan for thirty-two years prior to leaving to start and lead the nursing program at Concordia University Ann Arbor. Her teaching responsibilities include the health assessment and leadership courses. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and was a member of the State of Michigan State Board of Nursing from 2013-2019. She has published articles on the use of simulation and innovative teaching strategies to assess and enhance learning and is a faculty advocate, consultant, and trainer for Pearson Education’s virtual community, The Neighborhood 2.0 and the current 3.0 version. Her research includes strategies to improve the development of clinical judgment and inter-professional teamwork skills through the use of simulation. Cindy is also the lead author of Pearson's Health & Physical Assessment in Nursing, currently in its 4th edition.
