Dr. Michael Dettinger, Louisiana State University
Dr. Michael Dettinger works in the Department of Foreign Languages & Literatures at Louisiana State University (LSU), serving as Director of the Foreign Language Lab. He is also an instructor of German language courses, ranging from beginning levels to advanced conversation, including the first online German language course he designed specifically for the LSU campus. Dr. Dettinger also teaches and designs online distance learning courses for German in LSU's Department of Continuing Education. Since 2016, he has also taught in LSU's Roger Hadfield Odgen Honors College, where he has created courses related to German culture in Louisiana as well as German cultural and historical aspects in literature and film. His research focuses on the integration of interactive technologies in language teaching and learning, leveraging how today's technologies can connect and enhance student interaction and language skills in the classroom and beyond.
