We want to help get you ready for the fall semester, but at the same time, we know how busy you are this time of year. So, we'd like to introduce you to our "30 Minute Tune-Up" Webinar Series.
Join us for some quick tips from a fellow MyLab™ user who will highlight a few strategies you can use within MyLab Economics, helping you to get the most out of it.
The MyLab features that our presenter, Michael Ryan, will review are all designed to save you time and increase your students' engagement. Some of the features he will cover include newly available question types, digital interactives, and real-time data analysis exercises.
Michael Ryan
Michael is Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Economics Department at Western Michigan University (WMU). He has been a faculty member at WMU since 2000, and won the WMU College of Arts and Science Faculty Teaching Excellence Award in 2014. Michael teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses (MBA, Ph.D.) in subjects such as Principles of Microeconomics, International Economics, and Economics for Elementary Education. He currently teaches several large (200+ student) sections of microeconomic principles each year, courses on international economics topics, as well as several courses on economics specifically designed for elementary education majors. He has an academic field of study in experimental economics, and incorporates these experiments as well as numerous other technologically-based teaching/learning tools into his courses.
Michael has an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Indiana University, and a B.A. degree from St. Norbert College. Before WMU, Michael taught undergraduate and graduate courses at IUPUI and Indiana University. As a Faculty Advocate for Pearson’s MyEconLab, Michael leads faculty training webinars as well as assists in Pearson’s introduction of economic experiments into the system. In addition, he has lectured nationally and internationally on the use of course management systems and the use of web-based experiments in the economics principles course.
