1. Volunteer At Your Local Animal Shelter
It’s always great to give back to the community and on National Dog Day, it’s especially great to help all the animals that are patiently waiting for loving families to come and adopt them! By volunteering at an animal shelter, you can make a huge impact on a dog’s life by giving them the love and affection they need and deserve. Even more, giving these animals exposure to socialization with loving humans, may increase their chances of getting adopte!
2. Plan A Special Day for The Dogs in Your Life
There are plenty of ways in which you can make your dog (s) feel extra special on August 26th! Some examples can be a dog playdate, taking them to a dog park, and even baking them a special (dog-friendly) treat. The possibilities are endless!
3. Adopt A Dog
If you’re currently looking to add a furry friend to your family… what better day to do it other than on National Dog Day! Or think about helping out a local rescue organization by fostering a dog. While they may be a handful at times, the love that these fur balls can provide is unmatched.
As a proud owner of two dogs, I can say with FULL confidence that I love these dogs like family, and I would not trade them for the world!
