Meeting skills gaps with Pearson
Employability is at the centre of our vocational qualifications. We ensure that they align with your needs. There are many ways you can engage with us to bridge any gaps between education and employers, and help develop qualifications which create a skilled labour force, fit for the future.
Our vocational qualifications and products give learners the confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding they need to start and progress along their chosen learning and career paths. Qualifications include:
- Level 1 BTECs
- Level 2 BTECs
- Level 3 BTECs
- T Levels
- Level 4 and 5 Higher Nationals (HNs) and Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs)
- Apprenticeships, both qualifications and End-Point Assessment
Working with employers across these products, both in the UK and Internationally helps us build qualifications to give learners what they need to start and progress in their careers.
Developing new qualifications
When developing new qualifications we involve a range of employers, as well as representatives from further and higher education and professional bodies to ensure that our qualifications and learning programmes are fit for purpose and align to relevant standards.
"As the UKs leading early years provider, Busy Bees is delighted to have been asked by Pearson to contribute to BTEC qualification development as a panel member for the sector. We believe the real-world feedback and insight we provide supports our industry and ensures learners are getting the skills they need to nurture children through the critical early years." - Natasha Williams, Centre Manager Busy Bees
“In order to provide students with paths into cloud careers, AWS Educate has worked in depth with hiring managers, industry partners, researchers, and education to backwards map learning objectives and content to the most in-demand cloud jobs. We’re thrilled that Pearson shares this education-to-workforce vision and are excited to collaborate with them on these new BTEC Higher National qualifications in Cloud Computing. This offering will open up pathways for students not only in the UK but also across Pearson’s global footprint.” - Ken Eisner, Director of Worldwide Education Programs for AWS and Head of AWS Educate
T Levels
We regularly review our T Level qualifications by working with industry experts who sit on our Employer Validation Panel (EVP) for the relevant industry sector.
“Being involved with the Pearson Construction and the Built Environment route panel is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the continuing success of apprenticeships and T Levels in the sector” - Bruce Boughton, People Development Manager, Lovell
