Harriet Tubman
In The Road to Freedom by Lesa Cline-Ransome, young readers are introduced through a fictional story, to the historical figure of Harriet Tubman, one of the most celebrated conductors of the Underground Railroad.
Though the events of this story are fictional, the methods of escape are based on historical accounts of those who fled from slavery on the Undeground Railroad.
Part of our Bug Club Comprehension reading scheme for Year 6 pupils, we've made this book freely available as part of Black History Month.
