The Pearson World Changer Awards will celebrate the children and young people who are taking their learning to the next level to make a positive and tangible impact on the world.
Whether it’s setting up clubs to help cut the use of plastic, running art installations to connect world cultures or one of the many acts of kindness that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, the awards will highlight the passion, resilience and altruism being pioneered by 5-19 year-olds in schools, homes and communities across Britain.
At their heart, the World Changer Awards are about inspiring children and young people to interrogate the world around them, engage with local and global affairs and harness the power of education to drive change.
At Pearson, we know learning doesn’t end in the classroom. What is taught in schools, homes and communities can harness the talent and passion needed for the future.
So, as part of the awards, we plan to shine a light on the world of experiences and opportunities that can be unlocked through subjects across the wider curriculum, from business studies and languages to the humanities and the creatives.
We want children and young people to take inspiration from leading environmentalists, creatives, activists and entrepreneurs who are sparking change and to be empowered to use the skills fostered in homes and classrooms for good in the wider world.
The awards will celebrate individuals and groups who are making a positive impact on the world – no matter how big or small. Those crowned ‘World Changers’ will take home prizes to further their pioneering projects and commitments, as well as have their work published in our World Changer Series, to inspire others to become global citizens too.
The awards are for children and young people, aged 5 to 19.
Children and young people can be entered into the awards as individuals or groups. ‘Groups’ include classes, whole schools and settings as well as groups of children and young people.
For children and young people under the age of 18, entries must be made on a child’s/children’s behalf by a parent, carer or teacher over the age of 18.
Winning entrants will be asked to participate in media and marketing activity around the awards, including but not limited to media, social media and online activity.
As part of the awards, we want to highlight how the power of education can be harnessed to drive positive change and shine a light on the skills, passion and possibilities that can be unlocked through subjects across the wider curriculum.
