Girls’ Leadership Through Cricket programme
We joined forces with children’s cricketing charity Chance to Shine to encourage girls of all abilities and backgrounds to play, learn and develop through the power of cricket.
Through CTS’s Girls’ Leadership Through Cricket programme, Pearson and CTS supported secondary-aged girls across the UK to develop improved confidence and leadership skills, while strengthening their physical activity levels through the sport. By emphasising raised aspirations, and inspiring girls to achieve, the programme aimed to counteract challenges to self-belief, and contribute to a widespread improvement of physical health, mental health and wellbeing.
The initiative also provided secondary teachers with new resources to support teaching of the sport and leadership, while highlighting the importance of inclusivity and accessibility to schools.

"We’re delighted to have partnered with the brilliant Chance to Shine team in this shared mission – part of our ongoing commitment to maximise diversity in all areas of the curriculum. By empowering schools to give students access to a wide range of opportunities like this, we can build confidence and resilience in a generation of learners, remove traditional barriers to new experiences, and improve accessibility for all students, whatever their gender, background or ethnicity."

We know Sport isn't only about exercise
There is no doubt that young people’s participation in sport and exercise has a whole range of benefits for them and their future - and it is clear that sport really isn’t just about doing exercise. It helps to develop well-rounded individuals who have healthy minds and bodies, resilience in the face of unexpected challenges and are equipped with the skills that they will need in their future — no matter what they choose to do.
At Pearson, we believe in the power or sport and exercise, and in its ability to develop individuals far beyond the classroom. We offer a broad range of qualifications for PE and Sport, so you can choose the course and progression route that’s right for your students’ learning styles, personal strengths and ambitions — making sure every individual learner has the chance to reach their full potential.
