Pearson launches free digital learning resources to help students transition into Higher Education
Pearson has today launched three new online learning units FREE to UK universities for the 2020/21 academic year to support students transitioning into Higher Education.
These self-paced, interactive, online learning units cover:
- Transitioning to Higher Education: helping students navigate the complexities of starting university in 2020, setting expectations about how higher education differs from prior learning and supporting students to develop key skills.
- How to Learn Online: providing knowledge and skills to become a digital learner, including effective communication and collaboration.
- Wellbeing: supporting students in managing their mental and physical wellbeing while at university, with a focus on building up resilience, adaptability, stress-management and self-awareness.
Created as a result of research undertaken during the height of the pandemic, these units are designed to acknowledge traditional challenges of transitioning into Higher Education within the context of the disruption and new circumstances brought about by COVID-19. An intense development and production schedule means that these units are now available to be integrated into university transition support plans.
The online units encourage students to acknowledge and embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and offer insight, guidance and support to help students take control of their learning journey.
This is part of a wider provision of scalable solutions that Pearson is offering, all designed to help universities deliver high quality online learning.

"Starting university under normal circumstances is daunting for many students, so in the current climate there is likely to be a lot of apprehension. Transition in 2020 will be unique.
As part of our core strategy to put learners at the centre of everything we do, we’re proud to be offering content that can be accessed easily by all students – no matter where they are or what they are studying – to help them transition successfully into Higher Education."
