By clicking "I accept" or "I agree" or using the Services, you are entering into these Purchase Terms and Terms of Service (“Terms”) with Pearson Education Limited, a registered company in England and Wales whose registered office is at 80 Strand, London, WC2R 0RL, United Kingdom, with company registration number 872828 and VAT Number GB278 5371 21 for the benefit of itself and its group companies (collectively, “we,” “us,” or "Pearson").
Pearson makes available a variety of educational materials, including hard copy goods ("Physical Products"), permanent access downloads ("Digital Downloads") and time-limited or subscription-based access to certain Courses or other services ("Online Products"), (together, the "Products").
This website and its related applications, products, services, technology, content, and other intellectual property (collectively the "Services") are owned or licensed by Pearson or its licensors.
These Terms apply to your use and purchase of the Services and Products. Please do not use or purchase the Services or Products if you do not agree with these Terms. If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at Pearson Support.
Additional terms will apply to the purchase and receipt of subscriptions, which will be made available to you at the point of purchase.
General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)
The European Union's (EU) General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is a set of rules that requires consumer products to be safe and our obligations to ensure this.
In relation to products manufactured by Pearson Education Limited (UK), the manufacturer’s representative in the EU for product safety is Pearson Benelux BV, Kabelweg 37, 1014 BA Amsterdam.

1. We may occasionally need to change these Terms
For customers of Online Products and Services:
Pearson may make changes to these Terms from time to time for security, technical, legal or regulatory reasons. You will be provided with at least 7 days' notice before the new Terms become effective, unless a change is needed by law or for emergency reasons. If you are not happy with the updated Terms, please do not continue to use the Services.
If you consider that the updated Terms have materially impacted you, please notify us at Pearson Support of your request to terminate your access within 14 days of receiving the notice of the updated Terms. You will be entitled to terminate your access to the affected Services and receive a pro-rated refund in respect of access which has been paid for, but not received.
For customers of Physical Products and Digital Downloads:
The Terms entered into at the point of the contract being formed will continue to apply.
2. Your right to use the Services
Please enjoy using the features and functionality of the Services for your own personal educational purposes (as permitted by these Terms).
Subject to additional terms governing your purchase of, subscription to, and/or use of specific Services, Pearson grants to you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable license to use the Services in accordance with these Terms, the Website Terms and Conditions, the Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”), the applicable Privacy Notices, and any additional terms that apply as provided by your Institution or an integrated third-party service provider (“Third-Party Service”).
You are responsible for meeting the then-current hardware, operating system, internet browser, and other technical requirements necessary to properly use and access the Services. All rights not specifically granted under these Terms are reserved by Pearson.
3. Our Services and your use of these
All websites, course materials, e-books, and other content provided through the Services (collectively, the "Materials"), and any supporting software, applications, and systems (collectively, the "Applications") are the exclusive property of Pearson and/or its licensors. We use AI tools in our products and services. The Services may be delivered to you through the Internet via your browser or an app (mobile or otherwise) and may include enrolment in one or more online courses ("Course(s)") or other time-limited or subscription-based products provided through the Services for use in connection with classes and programmes offered by your school, employer, university, or other educational institution ("Institution"). While your user account may continue for an indefinite period of time during which you may enrol in other Courses, your access to those Online Products may be on a subscription basis for a limited period of time or otherwise time-limited. The Services may be provided directly by Pearson or accessed through a third-party integration with accounts managed by your Institution or a Third-Party Service. The Services may link to or provide options to access third-party websites or applications.
4. Availability of the Services
You understand that the Services: (1) need Internet access to work; (2) may occasionally be offline for maintenance or emergencies; (3) have features and functionality that may change over time.
The scope and availability of the Services may vary according to: (1) additional terms presented at the time of purchase or registration; (2) the specific Online Product or Service for which you’ve enrolled or registered; and/or (3) any licensing terms between Pearson and your Institution. Pearson is not responsible for limitations of access resulting from any Third-Party Service or as the result of certain account settings established by your Institution.
We do not make any guarantees that the Services, its content, and functionality will be fully available at all times. We will not be responsible for any losses suffered by you as a result of the Services not being fully available at all times.
You are responsible for obtaining Internet access in order to use the Services. For Online Products, you can access the Materials for the duration of access purchased, subject to Pearson's right to terminate access under these Terms.
While Pearson makes reasonable efforts to ensure the availability of Services to authorised users, Services may be unavailable for limited periods of time due to scheduled routine maintenance, emergency maintenance or factors beyond Pearson's control, such as disruptions of Internet services or unforeseen threats to the integrity or security of the Services.
We may make changes to the features or functionality of the Online Products to enhance them, where it is no longer possible to provide certain features, or for some other valid reason that we would tell you about. If we do this, we will provide advance written notice to you. If you are not happy with the changes, please do contact us at Pearson Support within 30 days of receipt of the notice. You will be entitled to terminate your access to the affected Online Products and receive a pro-rated refund in respect of access which has been paid for, but not received.
Pearson may at any time, with or without notice to you: (1) restrict the use and accessibility of any free Services; (2) discontinue, temporarily or permanently, any free Service or portion, feature, or content of any free Service; and/or (3) replace any free Service or portion, feature, or content of any free Service with a new, revised, or updated free Service or portion, feature, or content of any free Service. Information and updates about changes to the Services and its availability are posted regularly at Pearson Support. If Pearson discontinues a Service to which you hold an unredeemed access code or other credit, Pearson may: (1) replace such Service with a substantially similar service; (2) provide you with a financial credit that may be applied towards the purchase of another Pearson product or service; or (3) refund to you the purchase price paid for the access code or other credit. Access codes will be valid for redemption for 1 year after purchase.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
By accessing or using the Services you agree to comply with the terms of the AUP. If you do not comply with the AUP, Pearson is entitled to terminate your access to the Services immediately. Pearson is also entitled to suspend or terminate your access at any time at the request of your Institution.
6. Pearson or its licensors own the Services
While we or our licensors own the Services and all related intellectual property, we want you to use and enjoy them as explained in these Terms.
All Materials provided through the Services, and any Applications are the exclusive property of Pearson and/or its licensors. Except as set out in these Terms or the AUP, any reproduction, redistribution, modification, publication, or adaptation of Materials or Applications, without the express written consent of Pearson and/or its licensors, is strictly prohibited. The Services may allow you to copy or download certain Materials, but please remember that the availability of this functionality does not mean that the above restrictions do not apply.
Unless otherwise indicated, trademarks, service marks, and trade names (collectively, the "Marks") that appear on the Services are the property of Pearson or its licensors. Any Marks not owned by Pearson that appear in the Services are the property of their respective owners. You must not use any of the Marks without approval from the relevant owner.
7. How we will use any content you upload or provide to us
If you suggest ways we can improve the Services, Pearson will own all intellectual property rights in your submissions, and may use your ideas without compensation. You agree that we may use any content uploaded to the Services.
If you provide any feedback to Pearson in relation to your use of the Services, or upload any content to a Pearson website, such content will be owned by Pearson.
Any content uploaded or made available by you shall be subject to the Website Terms and Conditions and the AUP. You may not use the website or any of its features for any illegal or unauthorised purpose. We are not responsible for any content posted by users on the website, but we can monitor, reject, refuse or delete any content which we consider is in breach of the AUP.
8. Access to third-party websites & content is at your own risk
If the Services link or redirect you to non-Pearson websites or services, you agree to use them at your own risk.
You may have linked to the Services from a third-party website and/or the Services may provide links to other third-party websites or resources that are outside of Pearson’s control. Pearson assumes no responsibility for third-party content, services, or applications that may be accessed by way of links on the Services to third-party websites. Should you discover that a link to a third-party site is no longer functional please contact us at Pearson Support.
9. How to report other prohibited content
Please notify us of any content or materials you find in the Services that is infringing, offensive, or is otherwise prohibited under these Terms or the AUP. We don’t want it here either.
If you find objectionable or offensive material, please let us know as soon as possible via the report abuse button or by emailing reportabuse@pearson.com.
10. Data privacy, collection & use
Pearson's data collection and use practices for the Services are explained in the Privacy Notice applicable to each Service. We will collect, process and use your personal information in accordance with the applicable Privacy Notice. You agree that you will not carry out any data mining for AI purposes.
11. Purchase of Physical Products, Digital Downloads or Online Products
If you are ordering from our website, your order is placed and you are committed to pay for it when you press the “Place Order” button at the end of the checkout process. Once an order is placed and we send you a confirmation email, a contract between you and us will be formed.
By submitting an order for Digital Downloads, you agree that we will process your order and give you access to the downloads as soon as possible. Once you select the check box to receive an immediate download, you acknowledge that you do not have a 14-day right to change your mind and request a refund.
By submitting an order for Online Products, you agree that we will process your order and start providing access to the Online Products as soon as possible.
Prices are as stated from time to time on our website and are subject to change without notice, however the price will not change once you have received the email confirming your order.
Prices shown are inclusive of VAT or any other applicable sales tax. We will show you the final price, less any applicable discounts, on the page before you submit your order, together with any delivery costs.
You may pay for Products by using: (i) a valid Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card or debit card; or (ii) PayPal, (each a “Payment Method”). You agree that your selected Payment Method will be charged by Pearson when you place an order.
All card payments are subject to authorisation by the card issuer. If your payment is not authorised, we will cancel your order (and notify you that we have done so).
12. Delivery of Physical Products
The risk of loss or damage to Physical Products shall pass to you on delivery, and we shall not be responsible for Physical Products beyond this point. Ownership of the Physical Products will pass to you on payment.
If delivery of the Physical Products is delayed due to an event outside of our control, we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know. If the delay continues for a considerable period, you will be entitled to terminate the contract and receive a refund for any Physical Products you have paid for in advance, but not received.
13. Your right of return for Physical Products
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase of Physical Products please notify us at Pearson Support that you want to cancel your contract with us within 14 days from the day after the date of receipt. If we receive notice from you that you would like to cancel after your Physical Products have entered our order system for processing, then they will be dispatched to you but you may still return them to us within 14 days of receipt.
Your right to cancel and return Physical Products as set out above only applies where such items are unopened and the seal on the items remains unbroken. We can only accept the return of opened Physical Products if these are faulty, or not as described.
Once we have received your returned items (or once you have notified us you are cancelling a contract for Physical Products which are not yet in our order processing system) we will issue a full refund for the price of the Physical Product paid by you using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, and the price of our standard delivery charge. You will have to bear the return postage cost unless the return is the result of our error (including faulty or damaged Physical Products), in which case please notify us at Pearson Support. If you handle the Physical Product in a way which impacts its value, we will be entitled to reduce your refund accordingly.
When returning Physical Products, please enclose either (i) a copy of the paper invoice enclosed with the delivery, or (ii) a printout of the online digital receipt.
