Beyond Labz
Expand the capacity of physical labs
Give your students more ways to experience practicals in a blended learning environment with Beyond Labz – a virtual lab environment in which students can gain practical science lab experience in a realistic and immersive setting.
Students can perform experiments, practise safely ahead of in-person sessions, and get assessed outside of the time spent in an actual laboratory.
Offering hundreds of experiments, as well as the freedom for instructors to tweak or author their own, Beyond Labz is a great way to complement students’ in-person experiences allowing them to safely explore and experiment independently, as well as complete assigned work.
Latest update: Version 3 release
- Our Chemistry and Organic labs now provide immediate browser-based access – ensuring the content is always up-to-date.
- Use with any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge) on computer, chromebook or tablet.
- Save and share lab setups and results, create assignments and randomised unknowns, view and manage students and integrate with your VLE.

“Beyond Labz made a very difficult situation much easier for us. I feel that the students got as close to an authentic lab experience as they could from home without the busy work of other simulation products. They were able to jump right into the experience. The cost per student was very reasonable as well.“
- Dr Donna Barron, Hudson Valley Community College
How can Beyond Labz help you deliver more inclusive practicals?
What's inside?
Developed through 20 years of research, the Virtual Chemistry, Physics, and Biology labs provide a simple and easy-to-use solution for crucial lab experience and practice for Higher Ed students, in a safe environment.
Powered by Pearson's expert support team to help you with end-to-end implementation, guidance and setup you can quickly deliver successful learning experiences for all your students from day one.
Virtual Chemistry
Virtual Chemistry simulations and activities are divided into products for General and Organic Chemistry. Students can really discover Chemistry and see how things react (or don’t react) and even perform some classic experiments that currently we only talk about at a theoretical level.
Virtual Physics
Virtual Physics simulations and activities focus on qualitative and quantitative experiments exploring uniform motion, circular motion, ramp motion, falling bodies, projectiles, frictions, collisions, and the solar system.
Virtual Biology
Virtual Biology simulations and activities are focused on exploring the diversity of life through microscopy, genetics, molecular biology, ecology, and classifying species through systematics. The simulations contain detailed models and data for over 175 species
