On digital literacy
Do we need to focus on 'digital literacy' as a skill set for students at university? Or do they outstrip their tutors?
Is it 'schools, colleges and universities that need to be dragged into the 21st century', as Donald Clark claims in his stimulating blog?
A more measured view is collaboration between both, as March's JISC report details. There are examples of collaborative working from a range of UK universities, where students act as 'co-partners', who sometimes lead digital activity. Have a look at, 'Enhancing the student digital experience: a strategic approach'. There's a wealth of insight, research and guidelines for institutions on forming a sophisticated digital strategy.
