Studying BTEC Creative Media: Alfie's experience
BTEC Creative Media is all about getting stuck in and developing the skills and knowledge to help your talent shine and succeed in your career. Alfie, a BTEC Creative Media learner, shares his experience of the course and why he would recommend BTEC to future learners.
I chose to study a BTEC in Creative Media Production because I love hands-on learning, using equipment and putting theory into practice, BTEC ticks all these boxes. One week I learn the theory, the next, I produce an assessed product. As my BTEC is assessed throughout the course, I have a good understanding of where I am with my grades and the workload is spread out evenly.
BTECs are a great qualification to kick-start a career in the heart of the industry.
The most enjoyable part of the BTEC is using industry-standard equipment and software. I learn how to use equipment in a safe environment, surrounded by knowledgeable teachers, which inevitability gives me the skills and confidence to complete work experience and enter the world of industry.
In addition to practical coursework, I spend time writing essays, research reports and delivering presentations. These elements of the course give me confidence and prepare me for higher education and beyond.
I would recommend BTEC as a pathway for prospective students. BTEC offers a range of skills and experiences, from work placements and networking with industry professionals, to exploring personal development modules.
