Before you qualify as a therapist, you could work as a receptionist in a clinic, spa or health centre.

In the NHS, you could be a clerk, booking appointments and updating medical records. There may be apprenticeships available.

Career path

In a spa, you may be able to progress to a more senior receptionist role or take on some admin duties. You could become a therapist by training in one (or more) of the therapies. In the NHS, you can apply for promotion or move to a clinical support staff position.
