Typical working conditions
- You are likely to be working outdoors in all weathers.
- You will be physically active and learn practical skills.
Qualifications needed
You may not need GCSEs for these jobs, but you must have good communication skills. Some laboratory jobs will ask for English and maths GCSEs. You may find that you need IT skills for report writing and record keeping.
Career path
Once you have experience, you may be able to move up to a more senior post, such as a recycling officer or assistant ranger. If you do an apprenticeship, you will gain qualifications as well as practical experience to help you progress in your chosen career.
