Hands-On Power BI Workshop for Instructors: Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Analytics Dashboard Project for Introductory Accounting Courses

This webinar is similar to the hands-on Excel ESG analytics webinar, but the Power BI projects are slightly different than the Excel projects. In this webinar, instructors will try out parts of an introductory ESG Power BI project that has been developed using ESG reports from the hotel and lodging industry. Students will gain skills in data gathering, data analysis, and ESG metric interpretation by completing these projects.

For this workshop, you will create a Power BI analytics dashboard using ESG data inspired by real-life data. This webinar offers a valuable opportunity for instructors to try out this ESG project, learn about other free ESG projects, as well as the available data analytics resources at Pearson. Note that Power BI will only run on the Windows operating system.

About the Facilitator

Wendy Tietz, PhD, CPA, CMA, CGMA, CSCA, is a professor at Kent State University. She teaches introductory financial and managerial accounting in a variety of formats. She also teaches advanced management accounting and advanced accounting analytics and technology. She is the co-author of two Pearson introductory accounting textbooks and has won numerous teaching awards. Dr. Tietz authors a blog, Accounting in the Headlines, which contains real-life accounting stories for use in the introductory accounting classroom.
