Learning about learning

To help people reach their learning goals, we need to understand learning.

First of all, that means understanding the evolving reasons why people learn. Is it to pass a test, to get a job, or simply for the satisfaction of improving yourself?

Once we know what outcomes matter to learners, we can develop products and solutions that help them get there.

This is the experience we strive to create for our learners. We do this by designing learning experiences in line with our Learning Design Principles.

These principles describe the optimal conditions for learning, using the best insights from the cognitive and learning sciences.

  • why they matter in learning
  • the essential big ideas from the research
  • how they can be applied in practice
