Discover how Fountas & Pinnell Classroom™ improves teaching outcomes.
Whole group teaching
Interactive read-aloud
Organised into text sets that contains four to six picture books, this collection features engaging illustrations that represent a variety of:
- authors and illustrators
- topics, genres and themes
- text structures.
Whole group teaching
Shared reading
Suited to grades PreK through 3, these original big books span a variety of genres and contain features such as flaps, cut-outs and foldouts to engage and excite. Along with lesson folders, six small copies of each book and audiobooks are included for children to revisit during independent reading.
Whole group teaching
Phonics, spelling, and word study
Expand and refine children’s reading and writing powers with a collection of lessons that help them learn about and use sounds, letters and words.
Whole group teaching
Writing minilessons
Help children understand and apply effective writing characteristics with brief, focused, and explicit lessons. Minilessons provide a simple way to foster joyful writing and nurture students’ ability to write with purpose, imagination, and voice.
Whole group teaching
Reading minilessons
Help learners improve their independent reading with concise inquiry-based lessons that grow out of the interactive read-aloud experience. When linked to independent reading, reading minilessons can also be used to reinforce student learning.
Small group teaching
Guided reading
Support learners in grades K–6 to tackle challenging texts by bringing together and guiding learners at similar stages. Hundreds of original titles spanning text levels A through Z provide an incremental challenge according to each reader’s needs.
Small group teaching
Book clubs
Empower students to listen, interact and engage in discussions socially to improve their understanding of a text and develop a sense of agency.
Independent learning
Independent reading
With independent reading, you can help students:
- explore their interests
- flourish as readers
- develop the ability to independently read increasingly challenging texts.
