Cos is positive in QI and QIV.
-pi/4 = -45 degrees, meaning the angle is in QIV, hence positive x value.

How do we know that the x value for -pi/4 is a positive? The cosine on the circle is only positive and negative on the top half of the circle, I guess I am confused at to which -pi/4 we are using here.
