The example has two questions, 1) which molecules are organic, and 2) which are also hydrocarbons.
a and b are both organic, but it is only a that is a hydrocarbon. So the correct answer would be a, if we answer both questions simultaneously.

Hi there,
Yes, bromination if more selective than chlorination but it doesn't mean that there won't be any terminal bromides.
Selectivity will result in the formation of the secondary bromide as the major product but there will still be primary bromides in smaller quantities.

Ethonol is the solvent in this reaction. Solvent molecules are always available in large quantities in a reaction.
