Hi there,
I understand you confusion. Please note that the aromaticity for molecule D will be determined for the whole molecule because the rings are not isolated. If the rings are isolated, then we will determine aromaticity of each ring individually. Here, all pi bonds are conjugated, so we'll count the total number of electrons in resonance. There are 10 electrons in resonance, which is 4n+2 number (n=2), so molecule D is aromatic.
