So, does this mean that interest was paid on the day of the original issuance of the bonds also? If the bond was issued on Jan 1 of 2018 and interest payments are on Jan 1 and Jul 1, that first interest payment would either have to be on Jan 1, 2018 or the last one would have to be on Jan 1, 2023 (since there were only 10 payments with which to amortize the discount over).
