Hi there! The key is learning PEMDAS (order of operations) and operating like terms. What sign connects terms (multiplication/division or addition/subtraction) and how do I act?
Obviously, multiplication/division doesn't care about like terms, but we have to observe the expression carefully.
Presence of addition/subtraction means we can't multiply/divide without factorizing.
Addition/subtraction requires like terms.
When working with algebraic expressions, know that addition/subtraction operations requires like terms. Multiplication and division need parenthesis/factorization when addition/subtraction are present. Practice on this patterns and see if you find solving problems easy.
