We know that's when immune cells are going to ignore our own cells, but T regulatory cells control the function of other lymphocytes and it is commonly said that they do this via peripheral tolerance. What does that mean? Let's have a look at our answers. They are just going to regulate and control those that try to attack the wrong thing. Because central tolerance happens in the primary lymphoid organs, peripheral tolerance happens outside of the primary lymphoid organs and that's when we control or we get rid of those self reacting immune cells. But t regulatory cells also act as a function of peripheral tolerance, meaning they function outside of the primary lymph organs. And answer choice b says t regulatory cells inhibit lymphocyte function. Yes, they do. After those lymphocytes have exited the primary lymphoid organs? Yes, that is peripheral tolerance and these regulatory cells ensure that the lymphocytes do not attack self antigens. I really like this answer. It's got everything in there. So let's make sure c and d are not the correct answer. Answer choice c says, t regulatory cells control the production of t and b lymphocytes and ensure only cells with immune tolerance proliferate. Remember that they do not act within the primary lymphoid organs or the bone marrow, and they are not going to be involved in the production of lymphocytes. They are just regulating the lymphocytes after they've been produced. So this is not true. Answer choice d says T regulatory cells inhibit the T and B lymphocytes that are maturing within the primary lymphoid organs. No, they don't act within the primary lymphoid organs. They act as peripheral tolerance outside of the primary lymphoid organs, normally in the secondary lymphoid organs. So this is not true. So the correct answer here is answer choice b. Okay, everyone.
