I mean, I know you're not artificially intelligent, but I expect you're smart enough to know that I must be the instructor and I'm intelligent too. So I know why you're here. Artificial intelligence is the flavor of the week. All the cool kids are doing it. And the field of marketing is no exception. Every element of marketing is being overrun by AI, but you don't need to be an expert in technology or statistics or data science to use AI. You just need to know marketing and be willing to work with AI techniques to do your job better. This course will give you the confidence to do just that. And I have the experience you need to help you do it. I have been working in AI for over 40 years and in digital marketing for over 30. I was a distinguished engineer at IBM and I am currently the Chief Product Officer for SoloSegment, an AI software company that uses AI to improve website customer experience, especially around website search. I'm very excited about this course because it has been created through an artificially intelligent process that intuits exactly what each student needs and personalizes the course just for you. Nah, I'm just messing with you. AI can't do any of that, but this course will help you figure out what AI can do for your marketing and what it can't. Let's take a quick run through the lessons in this course. Lesson one will be your introduction to AI because, let's face it, that would be really dumb as the title for lesson six. Not only will we introduce AI, but also, the concepts of big data and data science, two really important parts of the underpinnings of AI. Once you know what AI is, it's time to examine how it works. The first thing to understand is how AI is different from traditional software programs. AI is a completely different form of automation. Then, we'll explore machine learning. One of the most important techniques of AI. Finally, we'll look at AI in action. We'll look at several examples of AI that are fueling marketing today. Next, we explore your opportunities in AI. How do you know that your problem can be solved with AI? How do you introduce AI to your organization? And how do you develop an AI strategy? We'll answer all of those questions in lesson three. Lesson four looks at the process to use to develop AI capabilities. First, we cover feature analysis, the technique that identifies the critical characteristics of the problem that data scientists need in order to solve it. We then tackle agile development. The iterative process that quickly gets to a working system and then makes it better and better. Next, we look at some typical processes for using AI to solve problems. And lastly, we walk you through the design of a real life AI system as an example for how you can do it too. Next, we take a deep dive into data. Data is the fuel of AI so you need to understand how the data process works and how to use that data for machine learning. But most importantly, we'll conclude by learning how to measure progress because knowing when your AI solution is good enough is the secret to success. In lesson six, we'll focus on how people fit into AI. We'll investigate the thorny questions around detecting and correcting errors in AI and we'll look at the important ethical considerations around using AI to supplant human judgment. We'll conclude by examining so-called human in the loop AI where human judgment works hand-in-hand with AI technology in a powerful combination. In our seventh and final lesson, we look at what's next for AI and what's next for you. While those seven lessons pack in a ton of content, there's much more to this course than those lessons. Throughout the course, you'll be creating a project for implementing AI in your own situation. We'll give you more details in lesson one. When you complete this course, you won't just understand AI, you'll have your own strategy for using AI in your own marketing. If that sounds exciting to you, then you're ready for lesson one.
