Is the navigation in your site or application consistent on all pages?

Why is this important?

When consistent navigation is repeated across pages throughout a site or application, it makes it easier for users to locate and access content. This is particularly important for users with visual and cognitive disabilities who may have difficulty navigating new content.

Example 1

As a person with low vision using screen magnification software,
I want consistent navigation throughout the website
so that I can find information faster.

Example 2

As a person with a cognitive disability,
I want the search field located in the same place on every page
so that I can quickly locate it when I want to search for information.

What should you do?

Design your site or application with consistent and predictable navigation that repeat across all pages.

How do you do it?

Make a list of all the navigation components and/or content that are repeated across a series of related webpages.
Ensure that all navigation links are in the same order each time they are repeated on a page.
